C&U Bearings for Rail applications

The highest-quality, most reliable roller bearings are essential for rail car applications from engines to wheels.

Angular contact ball bearings

Angular contact ball bearings are designed to support high radial-axial loads at high speeds. C&U angular contact bearings are manufactured using the highest-quality materials for maximum durability and life cycle. Advanced technologies help ensure close tolerances (even at high speeds), quiet operation, and minimal friction and wear. As a result, these bearings are ideal for high-performance rail engine and motor applications.

Cylindrical roller bearings

Ideal for high speeds, high temperatures and high load capacity (primarily radial), C&U cylindrical roller bearings are engineered to minimize friction and increase performance and life cycle. They are available in a wide range of bearing tolerances and single and double row cinfigurations. Because they can tolerate misalignment, they have a longer life cycle and are ideal for use in a number of railroad equipment applications.

Self-aligning ball bearings

Self-aligning bearings are useful in applications where installation errors or shaft misalignments are possible, or even likely. The composition of the bearings allows for the components to rotate freely (with extremely low friction risk) at certain angles and compensate for shaft misalignments. C&U self-aligning ball bearings are carefully engineered for optimum functionality, and to fit, mount, and dismount easily. They resist temperature increases even while operating in high-speed applications. They are commonly used in railway vehicle axels. The two types of self-aligning bearings are cylindrical bore and taper bore.

Single row deep groove ball bearings

Single row deep groove bearings are the most commonly used type of roller bearing worldwide. Versatility and performance are among their most appealing features. C&U single row deep groove ball bearings maximize these features, enabling superior performance at very high speeds. They provide support for significant radial loads and moderate axial loads (in both directions). C&U single row deep groove bearings’ high-tech design also makes them exceptionally quiet during operation, highly durable, and virtually maintenance free. They are commonly used in railway vehicles.

Spherical roller bearings

Spherical roller bearings are designed to function in the most severe conditions. C&U spherical roller bearings are engineered to maximize the spherical roller bearing’s ability to support high load capacity, compensate for severe shaft misalignment, absorb heavy shocks, and withstand high temperatures. C&U spherical roller bearings meet ISO 15 standards and are used in a variety of industries and applications, including in railway locomotive axels.

Tapered roller bearings

Tapered bearings are equipped with truncated cone-shape rollers and fall into three types: small-cone angle, mid-cone angle, and large-cone angle. The larger the contact angle, the larger the axial load capacity. C&U tapered roller bearings are used in a wide variety of applications and are designed to absorb force and maintain shaft alignment. They are built to run quietly and accurately, minimize friction, excel at high speeds, and provide long service life in rail applications, such as axles, differentials, and transmissions.
