Position Description – Position is responsible for creating and revising solid models and detailed drawings of bearing assemblies, bearing components, test tooling etc.
Functions/Responsibilities
- Maintain and operate C&U CAE software and systems including but not limited to Solidworks, Catia, MASTA, Romax, Abaqus and UGS
- Directly interface with engineers to clarify modeling, drawing and technical requirements
- Create/revise solid models
- Create/revise detailed drawings
- Develop drawing tolerance schemes with C&U Design for manufacturing and assembly methods
- Complete tolerance and assembly stack-up
- Complete tolerance variation studies
- Testing
- Calculations
- Drawings
- Bearing recommendation
- Analysis
- Administer and provide user support for CAE software and network license files
- Coordinate outsourced product engineering CAE requirements with C&U China and local suppliers
- Coordinate and comply with all customer CAE requirements
- Administer customer CAE data exchange systems
- Support FEA analysis
- Support development and fielding of C&Us global PLM system
- Sample bearing requests
- Review customer requirements and drawings
Competencies
- 5 years minimum experience in automotive CAE design
- Experience with bearing design and detailing highly desirable
- Computer skills required: Microsoft Office Suite: Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- GD&T expertise
Education
- Associates degree or equivalent experience in CAE design
Experience
- 5+ years’ experience as CAE designer
- 5+ years’ experience directly in the bearing industry
Reporting
The Analytical Engineer position reports directly to the Senior Engineering Manager
Physical Demands
Must be capable to…
- Sit for extended periods of time
- Full use of a computer and keyboard
- Minimal lifting of fifteen pounds or less
